Reading Wedding Photographer
I am a full-time wedding photographer, a decision I took back in 2009. I absolutely love my job! Having the opportunity to play such an important part on such a special occasion, and ultimately provide images that you will treasure forever, is a great privilege!
At every wedding I want to create a pictorial record, a story, of the day. I am not intrusive, I do not interfere, and I don’t like ridiculous poses. There’s a good reason for all this. When it comes to photographing people, I aspire to catch the real, natural person, how they really are… their personality, their character. A lot of what I do is observational, so anticipation and understanding the situation are some of my key skills. Of course, being personable, calming, and confident also come in very handy. In fact, they are essential when dealing with your family and guests. My wedding couples often remark upon how enjoyable they found their ‘Couple Photo Session’. Again, everything is geared to capturing the natural Bride and Groom. Posing is very relaxed (I might say “OK, go and stand in that archway”. If I micro manage it doesn't end up being you!). We have a bit of fun, and on occasions I tease out a reaction (which itself is an underestimated art).
My clients can attest to the fact that I am affable, reliable and organised. I am always professional and am delighted to say that I can now count many of my couples as friends. Brides and Grooms love the photos I provide, and fully appreciate my involvement on the day. If I sound like the type of person you want photographing your wedding then please get in touch. I'd love to hear from you!
Based near Reading I am happy to (and do) travel all over the south of England, particularly around Reading, Berkshire where I have lived for 40 years. I frequently find myself working around Andover, Bath, Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Reading, Salisbury, and Southampton.
I live with (the lovely) Marnie and our two dogs (Max, a Cocker Spaniel, & Lottie, a Sproodle). In my spare time I enjoy watching Reading FC, walking the dogs, playing table tennis, going to the cinema, listening to music, travelling, and eating out. I don't enjoy having my photograph taken, champagne, or rain.
